For days leading up to the 2021 NFL draft, Dolphins fans worldwide remained optimistic that their team would use a high draft pick on one of the nation’s top running backs. It seemed almost like a forgone conclusion, right?
Wrong!
The Dolphins ultimately passed on this year’s group of young running backs—much like they did a season ago—when faced with the ultimatum of upgrading the RB room or landing a premier defensive player.
We can all speculate on what this means for Brian Flores’ offensive philosophy. (Keep in mind he came from New England, where they seem to value running backs like Weedles and Caterpi in the abandoned forest) Or how much Miami coveted Raekwon Davis or Jevon Holland.
