The guard positions that caused so much angst for much of Dolphins training camp weren’t a problem in Sunday’s 17-10 season-opening victory over Washington. In fact, none of the Dolphins’ youngsters were a problem, a few were even heroes, and all wore smiles after their NFL debuts.
“It was very exciting,” said rookie defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, the second-round pick from Oklahoma who recorded the Dolphins’ only sack. “The crowd was something else, and a lot different than preseason when the crowd was never in it.
“That was fun.”
For these purposes, we’ll consider youngsters players with two or fewer years of experience.
