Misi is not a free agent but he is scheduled to count $4.8 million against this years cap. He has two years left on his current contract that will pay him $4.7 million in 2017. Misi was better last season than he was in the previous two when the Dolphins experimented with moving him inside. Misi was the top grade linebacker on the Dolphins unit.
While it’s unkown what the Dolphins intentions are, they are satifisfied with the gains he made in run defense. If cut, Misi would save $3.8 million in cap space but his departure would leave another hole on the defense.
