Dolphins to Stick with Ryan Fitzpatrick at the QB Spot – For Now

That means, at least for the moment, rookie Tua Tagovailoa will continue to sit and learn.

Dolphins head coach Brian Flores said Monday that he wouldn’t be pressured into starting Tagovailoa. Another reason the team isn’t making the move to the rookie is the fact that the QB’s past hip injury remains a factor.

Fitzpatrick has the Dolphins sitting at 1-3 a quarter into the season.

The 37-year-old has produced a 69% completion rate, six total touchdowns and five interceptions so far.

He threw for 315 yards and ran for 47 more and a touchdown, along with throwing two interceptions, during Sunday’s 31-23 loss to Seattle.
