The Miami Dolphins have informed safety Jordan Kovacs that he will be released on Tuesday in a roster move designed to address other needs.

According to Kovacs' agent, David Canter, the transaction wasn't processed in time for Kovacs to be placed on the NFL's waiver wire on Monday, therefore other NFL teams can't claim the former Michigan standout until Wednesday.

Kovacs, a special teams contributor, has contributed three tackles and one sack this season.
