MIAMI GARDENS – Cornerback Xavien Howard knows the drill. The Dolphins’ rookie expects to have a target on his back when he makes his debut Sunday against the Seahawks and quarterback Russell Wilson.
“I expect them to come at me,” he said, before adding:
“I just have to make them pay.”
Howard may have missed three weeks of training camp with a knee injury but that didn’t stop the Dolphins from naming the rookie a starter for Sunday’s opener.
Howard, a second round pick out of Baylor, played one preseason game, the finale a week ago against Tennessee at Hard Rock Stadium, and was listed at the top of the depth chart along with cornerback Byron Maxwell.
