The Dolphins have been eager to get second-round pick Xavien Howard some game action at cornerback, and he is expected to be one of the few veterans to get significant run in Thursday’s preseason finale against the Titans.
Howard, the 38th overall selection, was out the first three weeks of the preseason/camp with a knee injury but has been back at work on the practice field since Aug. 18. Miami held him out of the Atlanta game on Thursday, leaving next week as his only opportunity to play before the season starts Sept. 11.
“We would love to try to get him back this week as far as getting him in the game (against Tennessee),” coach Adam Gase said.
