The Miami Dolphins re-signed veteran offensive lineman Jacques McClendon to potential play center while Mike Pouncey is sidelined by a foot injury he suffered in Sunday's 38-20 loss to the New York Jets.
This is the third time McClendon, a four-year veteran who has appeared in 23 NFL games (five starts), has been signed by the Dolphins. He was initially signed as an unrestricted free agent this summer, but got released on Sept. 11. The Dolphins re-signed three days later only to cut him later that month.
Miami needs McClendon, who served as a center in Jacksonville last season, to handle the snapping duties because of a right foot injury Pouncey, the team's two-time Pro Bowl center, suffered against the Jets.
