DAVIE (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins have nominated center Mike Pouncey as its 2016 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year candidate.
The team announced the decision on Wednesday.
The Dolphins selected Pouncey in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times and was chosen as one of the franchise’s 50 greatest players last season.
Pouncey’s teammates selected him as a 2016 season captain.
According to the Dolphins, Pouncey purchases tickets every week so that children who otherwise would not be able to attend games are able to go.
