The Miami Dolphins appear to have finally found their next head coach. The team is reportedly working on a contract deal with San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, making him the 11 full-time head coach for the franchise. The move comes after the team completed final round interviews with both McDaniel and Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.
The Dolphins took almost a month to find their replacement for Brian Flores, interviewing several potential candidates before narrowing it down to Moore or McDaniel. It appears the final interviews pushed McDaniel to the lead, though Moore reportedly left the interview believing he could also land the job - to the point that a report indicated he was starting to put together a list of potential assistant coaches for his staff if he were to get Miami’s job.
