According to Rotoworld, the following breaking news has been announced:
Eagles released LG Evan Mathis.
This has been a long time coming for Mathis, who wore out his welcome under my-way-or-the-highway coach Chip Kelly. Mathis skipped voluntary workouts the past couple seasons in hopes of a trade or raise from the Eagles. Due a $5.5 million salary in 2015, Mathis wanted more entering his age-34 season. Now hitting the market at this stage of the year, Mathis would do well to make 75 percent of that. The Dolphins, Patriots, and Rams all reportedly expressed some level of interest in Mathis in recent months.
