After the 2018 season, the Miami Dolphins clearly entered rebuilding mode. We are just starting to see the fruits of that labor, with Miami adding three first-round picks — including quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in the 2020 NFL Draft — along with the best free-agent cornerback on the market in Byron Jones. While there is still work to do, the Dolphins are improving in key areas on both sides of the ball and are headed in the right direction. Given the uncertainty in the AFC East, it’s a wide-open race — and it’s not crazy to consider the Dolphins as an outside contender if they get strong quarterback play.
