4 Worst Draft Picks By The Dolphins In The Past 10 Years

The Miami Dolphins have had a hit-and-miss draft record over the past ten years, alternating franchise-changing first-round selections with a handful of real duds. These next four guys count as the "duds" for the team over the past ten seasons.

4. CB Vontae Davis, Illinois (25th overall, 2009)
This may seem weird, considering Davis has made the Pro Bowl with the Colts in back-to-back seasons. However, he didn't fully put things together until he was traded to Indianapolis in August of 2012. His All-Rookie selection in 2009 was a great accolade, but he never panned out as the #1 corner Miami was looking for -- that is, until he left. 3. CB Jason Allen, Tennessee (16th overall, 2006)
Allen never delivered on his first-round promise, starting just 19 games over four-and-a-half seasons before being waived in the middle of the 2010 campaign. He did play in every possible game but one for Miami, but he was a depth defensive back more than anything else.

2. WR Ted Ginn, Ohio State (9th overall, 2007)
Ginn was supposed to be the next great wideout for Miami. What he became was a great returner whose problems with drops and fumbles turned him into a liability in the passing game. Ultimately traded in 2010, Ginn's still a source of frustration to Miami fans everywhere.

1. DE Dion Jordan, Oregon (3rd overall, 2013)
Ugh. Jordan was supposed to be the Dolphins' version of Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller. What they got instead was a headcase who didn't produce in his first two years, and lost the 2015 season due to a third violation of the league's PED policy. Unless things do a complete 180, he's going to be one of the biggest busts in recent draft history.
