3 Players The Miami Dolphins Should Target In The First Round Of The NFL Draft

The Miami Dolphins struggled last season, fired their head coach mid-way through the year and now hold the No. 13 overall pick in the NFL Draft after a blockbuster trade with the Eagles. A return to the playoffs soon could happen under new head coach Adam Gase, but the Dolphins must fill a few needs - and draft an impact player in the first round. Here are three players Miami should target in the first round:

OT Jack Conklin

Offensive line is undoubtedly one of the biggest needs for Miami, and Conklin should be the guy at the top of their board. Along with being a very good pass blocker, Conklin's long arms, strength, and quick feet also allow him to be a dominant run blocker as well. For a team that needs to be more physical and tough, Conklin brings both in bunches.

CB Vernon Hargreaves III

Hargreaves was a true shutdown corner during his time at Florida, and is projected to be a top 10 pick because of that ability. Miami's secondary could use an upgrade, and Hargreaves is someone who could come in and immediately upgrade the enitre unit. He has solid size at 5'11" and 200 pounds, but his superb quickness and athleticism - along with his willingness and ability to be a factor in the run game as well - is what sets him apart.

ILB Reggie Ragland

Miami's defense also needs an upgrade at the linebacker position, and Ragland is a guy that can not only step in and be a star right away, but be a star for the next decade. The leader of Alabama's championship defense last year, Ragland is excellent at stopping the run and underrated in pass coverage - making him the kind of all-around guy the Dolphins need.
