MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Day one of the Memphis women's tennis team's weekend ends in a loss as the Tigers fall to Minnesota Friday evening. The Tigers had been on a three-match winning streak entering the weekend.
Memphis started off in an early deficit after surrendering the doubles point to the Gophers.
The Tigers and Gophers battled it out in singles, with five of the six matches requiring at least one set to go to a seventh-game clinch. Lina Hohnhold, playing on Court 5, notched the lone win for Memphis, winning in straight sets.
