OXFORD, Miss. – Playing a double-header in Oxford, Miss., the Memphis women's tennis team split its matches on Monday, falling to Ole Miss before rallying against UT Martin.
Starting the day against the hometown Rebels, the Tigers fell behind early and found themselves unable to catch up. The lone bright spots from the match were a 6-2 win for doubles pair Josephine Cao and Lina Hohnhold and a clean 6-0, 6-0 sweep for Hohnhold in singles.
"Ole Miss outcompeted us in a few positions, and we missed some opportunities in others," head coach Hayden Perez said of the morning match.
