MEMPHIS – Senior and sophomore advanced in singles play and Cao also teamed with to advance in doubles play on the opening day of the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships, Thursday.
Sohn downed East Tennessee's Yi Chi Ma, 6-1, 5-7, 6-0 to earn a second round match against UT Martin's Asel Jumamukhambetova at 12:30 pm, Friday.
In the morning, teamed with for a pair of doubles wins. The duo beat the Chattanooga team of Patton and Hall, 8-7 (5), then downed the Western Kentucky team of Oest/Dellgarte, 8-4. Cao then won her afternoon singles match, 6-3, 7-6 (2).
