From 2007 to 2011 the University of Memphis women’s soccer team dominated Conference USA to the tune of five consecutive conference championships and a historic 2011 season that saw the Tigers finish with a 21-1-1 record and peak at third in the national polls. Now, entering the 2015 season with a young roster that features 10 freshmen, head coach Brooks Monaghan is trying to get the program back to the heights it reached in that five-year run.
If there’s anyone who knows what it takes to get there it’s Monaghan, who has been at the helm of Memphis women’s soccer for 15 seasons and transformed the program into a consistent power.
