Women's Golf Finishes The American Championship In Third Place

PALM COAST, Fla. – The University of Memphis women's golf team made history Tuesday afternoon with a third-place finish in The American Women's Championship, the highest finish since the inception of the American Athletic Conference in 2013.

The Tigers rattled off a Memphis conference championship-low 289 in the third round to jump ahead of ECU for third place. Memphis finished with a three-day total of 885. The highest finish prior to this season was fourth place in 2014 and 2018.

"It is very exciting to have our best finish in a conference championship since joining The American six years ago," said head coach Beth Harrelson.
