Women's Basketball Suffers Setback At Temple Saturday

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Memphis women's basketball team suffered a 66-51 setback Saturday afternoon to the league-leading Temple Owls in Philadelphia, Pa. Memphis falls to 8-11 on the year and 1-5 in American Athletic Conference play. Temple was receiving votes in both the AP Poll and USA Today Coaches Poll.

How It Happened
Two quick fouls by Temple combined with a pair of free throws by Brea Elmore and a lay-up by Cheyenne Creighton opened the game up with Memphis up 4-0 on the Owls. The Tigers extended that first quarter lead to as many as five after Taylor Williams drained the first Tiger three-pointer of the game.
