PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Memphis freshman James Wiseman's first two college games resulted in the 7-foot-1 All-American center earning American Athletic Conference recognition.
Wiseman was named the league's Freshman of the Week for his performances last week against South Carolina State and UIC. In those games, he had 45 points, 20 rebounds and eight blocks. He also was 15-of-18 shooting.
Temple's Nate Pierre-Louis was named the conference's Player of the Week.
In the UofM's 97-64 victory over South Carolina State, Wiseman had 28 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in 22 minutes.
