MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Following a pair of singles wins last week, including a league victory, senior has been named the American Athletic Conference men's tennis player of the week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Watson turned in a pair of straight-set wins at the No. 2 position, as the Tigers split road matches in Texas.
Despite dropping a doubles match to Baylor's fifth-ranked duo, Watson turned in a 6-3, 6-2 straight-set win against the Bears' Matias Soto to start the weekend.
Watson continued the momentum with a conference win on Sunday afternoon in the Tigers' 4-1 triumph at SMU.
