TULSA, Okla. – The University of Memphis softball team dropped the series opener at Tulsa Friday evening by a score of 2-0. The setback puts Memphis at 19-15 overall and 2-2 in American Athletic Conference play.
Not a lot of contact was made in the ball game as the two teams combined for just 10 hits. Lindsey Stickrod led the Tigers with two in the ball game.
Tulsa scored one run in the third and one in the fifth to go up 2-0 over the Tigers. Memphis attempted to rally in the bottom of the seventh with a pair of runners in scoring position, but the reigning American Pitcher of the Week ended the game with a strikeout.
