Track And Field Sets School Record, Two Meet Records

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the third-straight meet of the indoor season, sophomore set a school record to lead the University of Memphis track and field teams at the KMS Invitational. The invitational, held at the Birmingham Crossplex, was a non-scoring meet.

And, for the second-straight week, Chavez improved her mark in the women's 200 meters. Chavez ran a 23.97 at the KMS Invitational, besting her time of 24.08 at the Jan. 20 Vanderbilt Invitational. At the time, Chavez's 24.08 broke the previous mark of 24.09 set by Kala Funderburk in 2013.

At the Dec. 2 Vanderbilt Opener, Chavez set the school record in the women's 60 meters with a time of 7.
