TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – won the 1500 meter run and also placed 10 in the 800 meters to lead the University of Memphis track and field squads' efforts at the rain-shortened 2016 John Mitchell Alabama Relays Saturday.
The Alabama Relays started Thursday, but as a result of inclement weather, only four events were completed Thursday and Friday. The weather forced 14 events to be cancelled.
Rodriguez Sala won the 1500 meter run in a time of 4:24.22 and also was the Tigers' highest finisher in the 800 meters (10) in a time of 2:15.11.
The Tigers women's team had three other top-five performances.
