ORLANDO – The sixth-seeded Memphis Tiger women's tennis team rolled to a 4-0 sweep over 11th-seeded Cincinnati in the first round of the 2023 American Athletic Conference Championship Wednesday morning at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
Memphis (9-12) advances to Thursday's quarterfinal against No. 3 South Florida. The Tigers and Bulls will take the court at 11 a.m.
"The girls played well today. The energy was great, and everyone played hard for each other," head coach Hayden Perez said. "We are looking forward to competing again tomorrow and the challenge will be to match the energy we had today.
