Tigers Squander Alexander Gem

STORRS, Conn – Connor Alexander allowed just two runs and scattered nine hits in seven innings of work, but the Memphis offense was held in check as the Tigers lost 4-0 and were swept by UConn at J.O. Christian Field.

The three-game sweep in a conference series was the first for the Tigers (21-11, 2-4 AAC) since 2012 at Southern Mississippi.

UConn snagged the lead on an RBI groundout in the second inning. The Huskies got two singles in the inning prior to the run coming home.

UConn doubled the lead with a two-out RBI triple in the bottom of the sixth.
