Tigers move into seventh place after Day 2 of AAC Championship

PALM HARBOR, Fla. – Rodi Vlasveld fired a 1-under 70 and Borja Martin shot even-par 71 to lead the University of Memphis during second-round play Monday in the American Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship presented by Visit St. Pete/Clearwater.

The Tigers shot 3-over 287, the second-best total of the day, to move into seventh place, two shots behind East Carolina and Temple and four shots behind fourth-place Cincinnati. No. 21 USF pulled away from the field Monday by shooting 5-under 279 for 563, 19 strokes better than second-place SMU.

Final round play in the AAC Championship will be Tuesday on the Copperhead Course at the Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club.
