MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- When it came to academics, the University of Memphis men's golf team operated above par last season.
Memphis was one of 24 Division 1 teams recognized for its academic accomplishments. The Tigers had a GPA of 3.5 or better to earn President's Special Recognition status from 18Birdies as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
New Mexico (Division I), Bellarmine (Division II), Swarthmore (Division III), Bethel (KS) (NAIA), Dodge City (NJCAA DI) and South Mountain (NJCAA DII) were named 18Birdies Academic National Champions for their respective divisions.
A total of 48 teams across all divisions received President's Special Recognition status for having team GPAs of 3.
