MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Bradley Bawden fired rounds of 69 and 73 to finish at 2-under 142 and newcomer Isaiah Jackson shot even-par 144 to lead the University of Memphis on the opening day of play in the Memphis Intercollegiate at Colonial Country Club.
The Chattanooga duo of Oliver Simonsen and Will Porter, however, were too much to overcome. Simonsen shot 64-68 to finish at 12-under 132 and atop the leaderboard, while Porter carded a 137 (66-71) to grab sole possession of second place. Simonsen and Porter helped Chattanooga end the opening day at 5-under 571, six strokes better than Oral Roberts (577).
