Tigers Hang on in Wichita to Put Away Shockers

WICHITA, Kan. – The University of Memphis hung on to defeat Wichita State, 83-78, inside Charles Koch Arena in Wichita on Thursday night. The Tigers improved to 21-7 overall and 11-4 in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) with the win.

In a game that saw 16 lead changes, Memphis persevered thanks to 19 and 18-point efforts by fifth-year guard Kendric Davis and fifth-year forward DeAndre Williams. Davis made his return to the lineup after missing Sunday's game against No. 2 Houston and added five rebounds and four assists.
