CLEARWATER, Fla. – Memphis blasted its way to a 9-5 win over UConn to force a rematch but couldn't keep the bats hot and lost 5-0 to end the season in the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Tournament Saturday at Bright House Field.
The Tigers (22-39) exploded for four runs in the bottom of the first inning of Saturday's first game and went on to score nine runs over the first three innings.
The Memphis offense blasted four doubles, two triples and two homers and was backed by a career-long outing by Drew Crosby in his first career start.
