Box Score CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Facing the No. 23 team in the country, the Memphis men's tennis team fell Saturday to Virginia in the first round of the ITA Kickoff Weekend. The 4-0 final sets up Memphis to face Utah State on Sunday.
The Tigers kept close in the doubles points, earning a win on Court 2 from the team of Jan Pallares and Patrick Sydow, 6-4. Both Courts 1 and 3 were taken by the Cavaliers, but were also 6-4 final scores.
Memphis struggled in its singles matches, falling in three straight courts to give the host-team Virginia the win.
