CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Memphis women's tennis went on the road Wednesday morning and dropped a 6-1 match with No. 30 Charlotte.

The match was moved up from the weekend after forecasts predicted inclement weather moving into the Charlotte area this weekend.

The Tigers (4-10) got the match started with a 6-0 sweep in doubles behind the No. 2 pairing of Camila Soares and Monique Woog, but the 49ers responded with back-to-back 6-2 victories on courts one and three to grab the first point.

In singles action, Charlotte won the first three matches in straight sets, but the Tigers continued to battle, forcing the next three matchups into tiebreakers.
