Tigers Fall 11-1 in Weather-Shortened Finale vs. Tulane

How it happened:

  • The Tigers fell behind early, as Tulane got a two-run home run from C Bennett Lee two batters into the bottom of the first, while a solo home run from DH Luis Aviles two batters later made it 3-0 Tulane
  • Memphis' offense couldn't get anything going against Robinson, as the Tigers didn't send more than four batters to the plate in any of the first four frames
  • The Green Wave kept up the home run barrage in the third, as LF Simon Baumgardt made it 5-0 with a two-run home run off of LHP Daniel Casto, while SS Gavin Shulz made it 8-0 later in the inning with a two-run home run off of LHP Logan Rushing
  • Aviles launched Tulane's fifth home run of the game and his second of the afternoon with a solo blast off of Rushing that opened the home half of the fourth, while the Green Wave added two more runs in the inning and led 11-0 after four frames
  • An error by 1B Brady Marget allowed PH BJ Banyon to reach to open the fifth, and he later scored on an RBI single by PH Tanner Booth, though Memphis left two runners on base and trailed 11-1 after 4.
