ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Memphis softball team fell in the series finale Sunday morning to UCF by a score of 6-2. The Tigers were unable to overcome early scoring by the Knights. Memphis drops to 30-14 on the year and 6-6 in American Athletic Conference play.
UCF put up four runs on three hits in the bottom of the first inning to take an early lead over the Tigers. It wasn't until the top of the third inning that Memphis was able to cut the lead in half.
A run in the fourth and in the sixth by UCF built its lead back up to four over the Tigers.
