MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The men's soccer team dropped a tough match to the UConn Huskies 2-0 Friday night. Memphis gave up a goal in the opening minutes of the second half to break the first-half stalemate.
The opening period saw both teams with opportunities throughout, with Memphis outshooting the Huskies 6-4. However, neither team was able to claim a lead in the first. The Huskies were aggressive from the opening whistle, firing off multiple shots in the first 15 minutes.
The Tigers regained their composure in in the middle of the half, controlling the offense and responding with their own shots, but like UConn, found themselves without a goal.
