MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After an early deficit, Memphis women's soccer couldn't quite catch the momentum needed to mount a comeback, dropping just its second match of the season in a 2-0 setback to UCF.
Although the Tigers (12-2-0, 4-1-0) outshot the Knights (7-4-1, 4-1-0), the UCF defense limited a potent Memphis attack.
"It was a good game. They beat us in the fine details," head coach Brooks Monaghan said. "We just weren't sharp enough in the final third. Every play matters and they were a little sharper than we were.
"There are some really good teams in our conference.
