MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The American Athletic Conference champion Memphis Tigers are seeded eighth in the East Region in the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship and will match up with ninth-seeded Florida Atlantic in the first round Friday at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. CT on TNT.
The Tigers (26-8) earned the AAC's automatic bid and are making their second-consecutive appearance in the Big Dance. It marks the first AAC championship for the program since joining the conference in 2013-14.
Memphis and FAU, winners of both the Conference USA regular season and tournament titles for the first time, have only ever met once in history.
