Tigers down Dayton in series opener

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A six-run sixth inning propelled Memphis baseball to a 7-2 win in its series opener against Dayton on Friday afternoon at FedExPark.

Facing a 2-0 deficit, Memphis posted a run in the fifth inning to get on the board, while six runs on five hits in the sixth inning helped the Tigers complete the comeback win.

"(Dayton) is a quality team. The job Bailey Wimberley did on that lineup was outstanding. We handled the baseball well today defensively," head coach Daron Schoenrock said. "We generated some things offensively in that sixth inning.
