MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Freshman catcher Rebeca Melton hit her first collegiate home run and drove in a total of two runs in the 6-3 win over Tennessee State Sunday afternoon. The Tigers were originally scheduled to play the TSU Tigers at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, but weather plagued play in the morning and the two squads got started around 3:40 p.m.
Memphis improves to 9-7 on the year after going a perfect 5-0 at the Blues City Classic.
The Tigers scored first, but quickly found themselves down 2-1 after the Tennessee State half of the second inning.
