HILTON HEAD, S.C. – A selection of Memphis Tigers competed in the ITF 15k in Hilton Head, S.C., enjoying success before weather disrupted competition.
In singles, both Camila Romero and Aran Teixido Garcia won their opening matches before bowing out in the Round of 16. Romero defeated Emma Lella, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4, and Teixido-Garcia topped Brooke Wrigley, 6-3, 6-0.
In doubles, the Tiger team of Emily Meyer/Teixido Garcia advanced to the finals, with their path including a win over a former world top-60 player.
