MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis men's tennis team had a strong day one showing at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional presented by Oracle at the University of Tennessee on Thursday. Memphis went 3-0 in doubles play, then went 10-1 in singles matches, advancing five of six players through two rounds of singles play in to the Round of 32.
The whole field played one round of doubles to start the morning. The Tigers' two seeded tandems each grabbed quick wins to advance to the Round of 32 in that draw. The team of and defeated the team of David Beasley and Bradley Luetschwager of IUPUI, 8-2.
