MEMPHIS – It's been five straight years that the University of Memphis Athletic Department has had at least three programs receive Academic Progress Rate (APR) public recognition from the NCAA. Men's cross country, rifle and women's golf all received their APR Public Recognition letters on Wednesday.
The APR is a real-time measure of eligibility and retention of student-athletes competing on every Division I sports team. The most recent APR scores are based on a multi-year rate that averages scores from the 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15 academic years.
Based on their most recent multiyear Academic Progress Rate, teams earn NCAA Public Recognition Awards for posting scores in the top 10 percent of their sport.
