MEMPHIS — University of Memphis' Taylor Gibson shot her best aggregate to date of 1183 to lead the Tiger rifle team on Saturday against conference rival and No. 10 Akron.
In just her second match of the season, Gibson broke the school airgun record by shooting an incredible 598, easily winning the discipline. She also shot a 585 smallbore for the second time this season, winning that discipline as well.
"She has been working very hard this semester" said head coach Dan Hermsmeier. "I think she is competing with a fire inside her after not being able to shoot the NCAA Championships in March due to COVID.
