MURRAY, Ky. – Three runs in the bottom of the first by Murray State proved to be enough as the University of Memphis softball team fell to the Racers by a score of 3-0 Wednesday evening. The teams were originally scheduled to play in a doubleheader, but weather in the area pushed back the start time and a single game was played.
Memphis falls to 23-20 on the year with a weekend conference series coming up against USF on the road.
Murray State capitalized in the first inning with three runs on four hits and was then held hitless until the bottom of the sixth inning.
