MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis softball team was unable to hang on to its lead in the 10th and the 11th as it fell to Belmont Wednesday evening by a score of 5-4 in 11 innings. The Tigers fall to 15-12 overall with their first conference series coming up this weekend at home.
The Tigers found themselves in a hole early as Belmont scored two in the second inning. The pitching duo of Molly Smith and Christian Novak kept the Bruins from scoring throughout the heart of the contest while Memphis got runs back in the third and the sixth to tie up the contest at 2-2.
