LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Memphis' and led a group of six Tigers runners who set career-bests in the 2018 Greater Louisville Classic Saturday. The Classic was held at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park, the site of the 2012, 2015 and 2017 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
The Tigers men's squad ran in the Classic's 8k Gold Race, the event's most competitive section, and placed 16. Sandwell competed in the women's 5k Blue Race Saturday.
Five men's performers set personal-bests, with each runner improving his 8k time by over 40 seconds. Sandwell shaved 17 seconds off her previous-best 5k time.
