Singles wins from Pallares and Stevenson not enough for men's tennis

CHICAGO, Ill. – The University of Memphis men's tennis team fell short in Sunday's match against Northwestern, suffering a 4-2 setback against the Wildcats.

Down 1-0 in doubles play, the duo of Marshall Sullivan and Jeremy Taylor picked up a 6-3 win on Court 3 to tie up doubles. Northwestern, however, would claim the last court to take the doubles point.

Undeterred, the Tigers found a straight-set win from Jan Pallares, who won 6-2, 6-3 on Court 1. Minutes later, David Stevenson added a win on Court 3 to give Memphis a 2-1 advantage.
