Sessen Stevens Named Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Semifinalist

FAIRFAX, Va. – University of Memphis women's soccer senior defender Sessen Stevens has been named an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar semifinalist as published in the Diverse: Issues In Higher Education magazine Thursday.

Stevens was one of five student-athletes in the American Athletic Conference to be named a semifinalist. In addition to their athletic ability, students named Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.2, be at least a sophomore academically, and be active on their campuses or in their communities. Nominated by their respective institutions, these students were chosen from over 1,000 minority student-athletes.
